My plan was to head out and run “comfortably fast.” I was thinking maybe just under 8:00, or down to 7:30 or so. So it’s surprising to see 6:30’s and 6:40’s, especially after a weak showing just 2 days ago in my aborted marathon attempt. My quads were sore early today, but not close to cramping and not enough to slow me down. It tells me (I think) that my taper needs to be short (10 days) and maybe more intense.
