Notes
Since I started running with my new stride, I have noticed that I am running faster wtih less perceived effort. Although, the perceived effort was less, I did notice my HR going pretty high. A typical pattern has been that I felt fast, so I went fast to start and this would put my HR pretty high.
So, today, I decided to raise HR more slowly with a slower warmup and I decided to run more easily today. So, I decided then to do a MAF test. As the first mile came to a close, I was surprised at how fast I was running for the HR. And then when the MAF test was completed I was really surprised.
But, this was a suprressed HR day. HR dropped quickly to below 100 beats after 2 minutes of walking. A sure sign. Also HR dropped fast with the slightest slow down in pace.
Even so, this is by far the best MAF test I have ever had, to this date, I think. It is actually probably low 10s now, but with HR suppresed today, it was lower.
Effort did not seem hard today. WIth new stride, effort does seem less these days.
