April 28, 2018 Run

Terrain: Asphalt, Concrete, Grass, Trail, Track

Notes: Ran with Marcus; he was feeling just okay until a little before mile 5, and then he felt great, so much so that he wanted to add on in Solano Community College, which added nearly a mile to the original plan. The pace was great all along Suisun Parkway and especially Downtown Fairfield. In the FoodMaxx parking lot, we saw Isaac, and inside the store we saw Cristina. At the SCC track, we saw the ghost of a runner/possibly just an actual runner, and all along the Linear Park Trail we saw tons of gray squirrels/possibly just one really fast one. Also, one of the bushes sneezed as we ran by it, which was disconcerting but also interesting. We saw a lot of future run locations, too, such as Rockville, the Solano Turkey Trot staging area, and the road up to Hiddenbrooke in Vallejo. Weather was great for running; cloudy, a bit cool, with a little breeze that was only slightly against us on the way out. Great run overall, and it makes Marcus the first 7th grader to run half marathon distance in school history, and probably district history as well. Very impressive!
