Really bad workout with Scott Wietecha in Hendersonville. Felt bad from the beginning. Plan was 3x5k @ 5:00 - 5:05 pace with the last mile of each 5k @ 4:50 - 4:55. Rest was 1k @ 6:00 pace. First one was on, but I could tell early on in the second 5k that things were starting to fall apart. Couldn't make any separation with Scott on that one. On the third one, I wanted to quit half a mile in, but made myself get through 2 miles. I don't know if I could have physically hung for another mile, but I was feeling too weak mentally and physically to make myself try.

Have come up with a million reasons/excuses in my head for the bad workout (mental/physical toll of all the holiday travel, taking 300mg caffeine an hour before and feeling like I was going to throw up on the drive, possible weight gain over break, body being zapped from 104 miles in 7 days over break, stopping my routine of core/hips/push-ups due to the back pain, etc.), but at this point I have to really focus on what I can do right over the next couple of weeks to get ready for Houston.
