Notes
I had no watch today. Seem to have lost it the day before this race. Weather was good with the exception of quite a bit of wind- it was swirling and only sometimes it was a problem. I felt pretty comfy until the turn-around at 3.1, and was then surprised at the amount of effort it was taking. It got crowded at the 5 mile mark because we got mixed into the 5k crowd at that point on a narrow bike path. I think I could run under 36 minutes given ideal conditions, but not much more than that. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd all ran about 34:10 - 34:35. Wish I could have hung with them. Both my big toes took a beating and got roughed up on the inside (the left big toe was bleeding afterward). If I could shave a few pounds and put some long runs together, I think I'd be in good shape. I kind of fell apart too soon around 3.5 and had to endure the pain for too long. Mostly mental, I think. If I'd have thought I was going 10 miles instead of 6, I might not have panicked.
