Notes

worried at start (diarrhea-too much tequilla yeseterday at Uncle Marks?). easy down the gentle rollling hills of old spanish trail, hit saguaro nat park at 48:00, approx 6 miles (a little short). another mile to past irvungton, a slight hill, on left at crest of hill is trail entryway (59:00). ran north until 1:40, worried i took wrong trail but now i think i turned away a little early, but i heard Broadway's cars. so very close. beginnging of trail is rocky but smooth after u cross the first paved street. brilliant moment when the sun broke over the top of mountains. in a matter of seconds, went from shady with patches of frost to bright sunny and everything wet with melt and soon mist rising. pass the lime kiln, the foundation of a home, past another paved path. made it back to the old spanish trail at 2:20. so same slow pace (lots of twists and rocky so slow). hit the saguaro nat park at 2:31. upped the pace. made it back at 3:09, so the final 6 (a little short) was in 38:00 vs the start's 48:00. was near 6:20-6:30 pace and felt like i could have kept going. 1 tall bottle of twist mouth gatorade and 3 Gu's (1 at start).
