Ouch. Dammit. Last few weeks the hamstring has started acting up 8-9 miles into the long run, plus it's been acting up over the weekend with all the sitting, plus no sleep last night... so I preemptively started walk breaks after every mile. But again, hamstring was an issue late. Pain down the whole leg towards the end, more walking. This is really not good. Marathon in 4 weeks, 100 miles in two months, really? Starting to look unlikely. I think all the all nighters are definitely impacting my recovery.

Some of this is due, maybe, to whatever's going on with my left foot, maybe incipient PF, or maybe I just beat it up a little too much that day I went out for 16 in the new 1400s, and now I have no more shoes that have enough cushioning, so it's never really gotten a chance to recover.

On the plus side, I was getting to where I could really lock in to using core & pelvic floor to hold the pelvis more steady. It is, as Mikey says, a strange sensation. It's like I'm a rigid marionette, and just my legs are moving. But I can't say there was any perceptible beneficial effect on the hamstring.
