More refined Belfast pacing practice. Ran in lane 2.5 (on the line), trying to replicate the Belfast loop length (1.027 miles). Actually I think it should be in lane 3. Anyway, tried walking 35 sec every 4 laps (Belfast loop), but for only 35 sec. 9:22 target "miles". Drank every other "mile".

Worked OK... two questions. (1) Is 35 sec long enough to get a break, and make it worth walking? (2) Is it long enough to drink and take some gel?

I think walk breaks every two loops might be pushing it. I've had better luck so far walking every 1.5 - 1.75 miles. Can't do that here.

Best part, felt pretty good / typical for a midweek 16 miles. Even though the tendons are shot, I'm wearing a boat anchor ankle brace, and I'm up 7 pounds from where I should be. Fingers crossed.
