Notes

The main focus of today was to run MP or slightly faster for 10 miles. The point is to practice pacing and consistency for a long period of time. Secondary focus was to stop as infrequently as possible since I usually take a breather at the turnaround. According to the Garmin, I stopped for a total of 1 min 2 sec. All for traffic. Overall it was a success. The headwind on the way back wasn't fun but it was good practice to keep pace through that.

MP is 6:40? i was so worried that my runs get broken up by traffic when i ran my first half. I was thinking i couldn't hold a pace for 13 miles. Then the adrenaline and excitement kept me going so maybe race day is unique

My goal is 3 hours so MP is really 6:52. I think 6:40-6:45 is the pace I can hold, but I'm giving myself some wiggle room since 26 miles is way farther than I've ever gone. Like I was bonking hard on my 17 miler on Saturday and I was struggling to run 7:20s by the end. I don't think my body is as cut out for longer distances. And yeah I had the same worry which is why I did this workout. That's good to hear that it didn't make too much of a difference.
