Notes

Another very solid long run workout on a beautiful and cool Minocqua morning. Brenna came with on her ~ Specialized ~ bike. Her company helped the time go by. We drove over to the nearby disc golf course to start so we could avoid some hills and gravel roads. A spider in the car almost made us abandon the car, burn it, and walk back, but Brenna managed to at least get the spider out of vision and we prayed it was gone until we parked. Obstacle 1 overcome. I mapped out a 15 mile loop that I memorized and it was a very pleasant and scenic route. It was a bit on the chilly side so Brenna biked out ahead of me a few times to get the blood pumpin. She dropped some knowledge from college (new mix tape droppin soon) about the natives and a walleye war since we were near a reservation. See, the education system was good for something, mom. The first 8 were easyish, but also quite hilly. I stopped at 8.5 for a pee, water, and gu break, then put in some work for the next 7 miles until 15. There were a couple big hills I forgot about that really put me to the test but I was able to rebound. Broke my 10k record during that stretch. Used the last mile as a cool down. Overall great run. I felt like I was running on tired legs moreso than the last few long runs which is good I think. I’m hoping I’m not peaking too soon because I think I’m ready for a 1:20 half already.
