Woke up hungry for some strava segment CRs so I had some coffee, pooped a little, stretched out my hips, put on the half tights and the racers, and did a 6 mile tempo on a route with 3 segments that I could snag. Those bitches are MINE. Felt really smooth running sub 5:40s. Found myself able to relax quite well. The segments ended after mile 5 (mile 4 of the tempo) so I eased up a tiny bit in the last 2 miles of the tempo, and the last one was kind of a struggle cuz it was quite uphill. It was pretty darn close to all out for a 10k I'd say. Super proud of the effort. Elapsed time was maybe an extra minute cuz I stopped around 4.5 to cross Long Lake Rd. and 5.5 to catch my breath before the hilly section. Finished it off with a 3 mile cool down. Things started to get rough right at the end - poop was about to escape my body (I made it home don't worry) and I was really starting to feel my left achilles and IT band. Not a great sign. I'm gonna have to really treat those for the next few days. If I need to only run 2 miles tomorrow and/or skip the long run this weekend I will cuz I will be sad boi vibes if I can't run my race cuz of those injuries.
