Notes

Since this was a PR, I figured it would be a good idea to record my pre-race activities so I can do something similar next time. Got a good amount of sleep on Thursday, about 6 hours. Took Thursday off from running. Friday, went 2.5 miles with some strides. Slept for 6+ hours. Breakfast: frosted mini-wheats. At Mt. Holyoke, I hydrated well and ate a lot of Nature Valley bars before the race. I warmed up closer to race time than usual. Did strides and a quick jog just a few minutes before the race. Went out in 60 flat, felt good. Made sure not to overextend myself and push too hard too early. Kept up a decent pace, going through 600 in about 1:31. Did not go all out until the last 100, and definitely died a bit in the last 30 meters or so. Still, making sure not to try to kick too early was key.
