Notes

I decided to do this after the mile, which, in the end, was probably a good choice. The first mile felt good, and I was right behind Finney from Anderson at the end of it (he beat me at conference by a few seconds). At the end of lap 6, I noticed that I was getting a little bit slower, just below 10:00 pace. I passed Finney on the first turn of the 6th. I was really getting tired by then, and was just above 10:00 pace at the end of 7. I tried to push for the fast last lap, but it was hard to get. Finney got me on the last curve, and ended up beating me by just a few seconds again. I ran the mile first, and he didn't race before, so that's ok. He's a sophomore from Anderson, so we will see more from him come XC.

Track is finally over! I am really glad that I did it this year it was a lot of fun. Getting through it healthily was good, and we got some good workouts in. I plan to take off 6 or 7 days, then Coach said I should go every other day for a week or 2 to get back into it. I will miss the first week of practice because of the mission trip (June 14-20). Hopefully we will get some miles in when we are in Pennsylvania. I will hopefully get 30 in that week, but we will see. I know that Shannon has to run a ton this summer before college, so we can probably do :50 in the mornings. I guess I set prs in every race this season, so that was pretty cool. I'm not sure about the 2 mile today, I heard both 10:02 and 10:03, and I have yet to check the official results. The mile was a close call when I got 4:40 twice, but I think it ended up being 0:00.5 different. I am very glad that I ran track, and hopefully I will retain the speed part of it over the summer.
