Notes

Awesome race today. I finally have gotten back the mentality that I can be better than these other guys and I have the physical ability to do it. Great weather today, I felt good; no cramps or anything, and most of the tightness was gone by the start of the race. After the first 800m, I was probably around 10th place or so, but not that far back. Near the end of the first loop, I was right on Dan Bell, the kid that bloodied my leg at FAVC track. I edged him out around a corner by the fence, and didn't have to worry about him anymore. By then I was probably in 6th or 7th. I passed Drew DiSabatino from Turpin coming out of the baseball complex, then some Walnut Hills kid going into the track complex. I couldn't really tell if anyone who I had passed was hanging around back there, so I turned it on going around the tennis courts. I think I lost a couple of seconds going around the last cone at the sharp turn; I think they moved it from the first lap or something. Nick El-Khoury from Turpin won, Bever from Milford second (I am getting really close to him. Today I was only about 15 seconds away, coming up on FAVC in a few weeks), somebody from Lakota East 3rd, and then me. Everything felt great the whole time, and I believe that I can go faster. I now have the mental thing that I didn't have freshman year, got sophomore year, and maybe lost at the beginning of this year. I know I can now.
