Notes
FAVC Meet. It seemed almost the same as the Milford Invitational, because the weather was cool at the beginning. It warmed up a lot in the early morning, and it was about 60 by race time. I ran varsity, and I was hoping to stay in the 7th spot for districts and regionals. I felt good for the first couple miles. My first mile was 5-10 seconds slower than usual, which is probably good because I usually go out too fast. I almost kept up that pace for the rest of the race. There were two Milford kids slightly ahead of me, and I knew that they were the 6th and 7th runners because I had heard that they stuck together and ran around 18:00. I passed them at 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 miles, but the faster one kept trying to hold me off. I passed him after the 2nd woods, which was after the 2 mile mark. I could see Cullen when I came out of the woods. I passed him with 400 or less to go by the soccer field; I told him to go but he didn't have much left. I passed 1 or 2 more before the woods, and then no more in the last woods. I didn't have as good of a sprint as I would have liked, but I am pretty happy with my time. Joe got 17:52, but I don't know if that is enough for coach to pick me for districts. I guess he should go because he is a senior, but it could be either of us as far as times go. Coach said he would tell us early next week. Milford got 1st, we got 2nd.
