The 5 mile tempo run was done in 33:32. I felt really good during the run. My hip was in some pain as it has been for a while now and I was cramping up a little. I fought hard and finished the run as strong as I could. This was the start of a new training plan that i'm going to work through for my marathon. It's only a 3 day plan for the week and i'm hoping it works great. The run tonight was tough but I fought hard and didn't back down or give up, I pushed through pain and ran hard, when I fell below pace I sped up and kept the pace. I feel really good and much more confident moving forward. This was also technically my first ever tempo run as I had a Garmin and it kept track of my pace and beeped and vibrated when I was off pace> i love the Garmin and look forward to more tempo runs in the near and distant future.
