Notes

Felt something go wrong in my foot in early February, an easy 5 miler and the next day it didn't feel right but I did my tempo anyways. Then something happened that hasn't happened in years, I quit on a run half way through. So pissed at myself, I jumped on the mill at lunch time and tried it again, and again failed. From that point on, I knew (but didn't confirm until later) that I fractured the left side of my foot.

I ran easy every day and rolled my foot away from the pain. I treadmilled every day and I pretty much got through it. Then I ran the Jones 10 miler and it was def too early to go back and race. late in the race the pain was back to how it felt earlier when it first started. The next day it wasn't great again. Then a few days later I felt something sharp on the other side of my foot and that when I knew I had multiple problems.

Xray, MRI later 4 possibly, 5 stress fractures in my foot.

No running through the end of March and through half of April. On the Friday before Boston, I got the clear that everything was healed, and I should take 30 more days off to let it acclimate build muscle back etc.

I ran that day. Really hard.

I ran the next day, Really hard.

Took Sunday off.

And Ran boston. I wouldn't have done it for any other race. This was really hard. Running 8s felt like running 6:10s did 2 months prior. I got passed by a lot of people. But finished, unscathed I think? Had to wear the boot for one week following but it seems like I am doing better now.
