Notes

15:58 5k . Sometimes you catch magic in a bottle, sometimes you get good people around you who make it happen. When great runners like Kara Molloy Haas and E-j Hrynowski tell you to do something, you listen. Thank you for talking me into to bringing my sneakers to the track. Forgot all my gear, if not for Mikey Moore and Donna Moore I never would have made it to start line. Michael Sheehan paid my entry fee. And Coco Sullivan cheered me on for 12 laps of pure hell. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

After doing the 5 x 1000 workout with 400 recovery, I knew this was a realistic possibility. That workout pointed to a 16:03 (talk about a good indicator workout). Mile 1 and 2 felt controlled and reasonable. the last 800 of mile 3 was awful. Everything was hurting. It felt like a complete all out sprint. I heard some coach yelling at a girl saying "stop thinking about how many laps you have to go and start thinking about how you are going to run THIS 400 at your goal pace" and that pretty much became my mantra.
