Notes

What a challenge, weather-wise, this morning's Pre-Dawn Patrol was. It was cool and breezy from last night's rain when I left the house into the usual dark & quiet. The FLASH of lightning that welcomed me at the stoplight was complete surprise ... but, as I counted the seconds for the thunder [15, as it turned out or approximately two miles distant], I reckoned I was in no danger, as long as I stayed out of the woods - pretty much. I continued on towards the Small Lakes & The Farm; a slight drizzle started. It didn't take long for the wind to ramp up and for the drizzle to upgrade to downpour. The shower was short-lived, however, taking up only a half-mile or so. A couple more flashes and far more distant rumbles signaled the end of the day’s activity ... well, after ONE MORE quick squall, anyway. I trotted into the development wet and a little cold, as the skies began to clear and a light fog came up
