Notes
At the Two Mile turn, I saw a bit of orange up ahead, about half a mile down the road. At first I thought it was maybe just a safety sign, but I noticed it was going in & out of the shade, meaning that it was moving. I've been seeing more & more Runners in my little town, and I've run by [and with] a few now, and I wondered if it might be someone I knew.
Naturally, I gave chase.
I slowly reeled the Runner in, but lost sight as whomever crest the rise in front of me. As I topped it myself, I searched ahead for the Runner. Some low trees, and bends in the sidewalk hid a straight view down the street, but soon enough, I saw the orange top again, close enough to realize that my friendly Runner friend was not that at all ...
Just some Team DUI stooge in an orange hoodie, soft-pedaling his beater paper-boy bike to the liquor store just as they opened to pick up his daily bottle & six-pack [they were in the basket on his handlebars]
