I hoped that the overnight rain would hold up long enough for me to get a nice sloppy run in this morning. Yes, I said "hold UP" not "hold OFF" ... I felt kinda robbed last week when I was "promised" a rainy morning run, but was delivered just a mildly disappointing "fog event" ...
It was chilly, foggy & grey, with a slight mist when I left the house, but by the time I reached the RR Xing, a steady sprinkle had begun. I had gotten up and out early enough that I had time to do a much longer than usual route ... not QUITE into "Weekend Long Run" category, but pretty substantial for a weekday. The sprinkle upgraded to a drizzle as I ran past the goat farm [where that freaking peacock had gotten outside the fence and chased me] and then the long lonely stretch where nothing happens for about 1200 yards, before turning for Newman's and back home.
I shook some rainwater from the lower branches for an extra shower and a silly smile. Before long was back on the crumbling gravely "popular" streets, minding the potholes and trying not to get splashed by locals in their pick-ups.
I made it back in just a little bit less than an hour; delightfully wet and cold ... A deserving workout to COMPLETELY enjoy the benefits of our brand new water heater!!!
