Not exactly holding to the Gary the Vale UltraMarathon Training Program, but I did bump up last week's run just ABOUT a mile. However, I think this: to be fully effective, the Gary the Vale UltraMarathon Training Program should be defined as such "Each week, make your long run just one mile longer than the previous week; trick you're body into saying "It's just a little more than last time. It can't be that bad right?" Starting from Zero, you could be doing a 50 miler by the end of the year, Create an an out & back route where you can easily go half a mile further down the road each week an that will eneance/minimize the 'just a little more' part" This serves to purposes, i think. Firstly, i there is the conistency of running the same route weekly. Secondly, when you get to the turnaround on any particular week, you can kinda see where you're turnaround the NEXT week is gonna be = half a mile down the road. Even though we're only at 8 miles ,,, 4 out/4 back ... I see promise in this ... unless I get bored
