Notes

cooper nor cross run the bridge 10k. got there really early so did some jogging and then the warmup routine and then another 15 min running - last minute or two a little harder but I feel like i finished the warmup too far away from the actual start of the race because i had 45 minutes of doing strides it felt like. The race starts on the bridge so the first mile is uphill and i was worried about starting conservative so i ended up running like 6:46 for the first mile which ended up being I think the slowest mile of the race. 2nd mile also felt hard on the bridge, 6:34, mile three was 6:37 (19:58 for three), 6:18 for 4, 6:45 (33:03 for 5) and then 8:08 for 1.2 (41:12 finish time).

I was a little disappointed with the time, but it does equate to about 15-20 sec faster for 6k than what i actually ran at paul short, so it was an overall better performance. I felt like I raced where, especially in the middle miles of the race. I just kept trying to pick people out and chase them down. I caught all but two guys that I was trying to catch. There was a woman with me around mile 4 and that was my fastest mile and i dropped her.. it ended up being doreen mccoubrie... she finished about 30 seconds behind me i think. it was the first time i ever beat her. she usually beats me. Overall, i was happy with the race. I still have two weeks to go for rothman8k. I think I can gain a little fitness and I think I can push myself a little harder there. I still think the PR is in reach.
