Notes

Felt good. Pre-race went well and easy to get to the start. Was about 60 degrees a bit humid (90%) and overcast with some wind at the last couple miles. Started raining during the race and was on and off. Shoes were totally drenched at the end. Splits were totally solid until mile 20 then faded the last 10k. Was holding on but should have figured out how to get a bit more out of myself. Kicked well at the end and passed a bunch of folks. Bib did not register as it got crumpled up just past 40k. 6.28 avg. 5k splits were 6.16, 4 6.19s, 6.26, 6.18, 6.40 and 7.06. 6.06,6.11,6.23,6.14,6.16,6.18,6.20,6.16,6.19, 6.21, 6.16, 6.18, 6.19, 6.19, 6.21, 6.21, 6.23,6.18,6.16,6.38,6.43,6.52,6.58, 7.09,7.08,6.45,1.22 2.49.22. Course was flat to the point quads were totally trashed after more than usual. Crowd support was awesome. Took 3 gels and plenty of water and gatorade. Had some cramps from the gatorade mix but just worked thru them. Felt really good thru 10 and 13. Really until 16-17 was when felt like I was working pretty hard. Good run. Probably left a min or two out there that I would have liked to have gotten. Because of heat and humidity, not sure I even had 25k at that pace during the buildup. Was some wind over the last 10k but don't think it noticeably slowed me down. Could have used a 4th gel and more training of sustained pace over the longer distances. 23rd in age group, 480th male, 525 overall
