Notes
Got out well. Splits were 5.31, 5.36, 5.41, 5.49, 5.54, 6.11, 6.16, 6.20, 6.21, 5.59. Was 75 and almost 100% humidity at the start with some light drizzle during the race. Felt really good but humidity definitely sunk in about 4 miles in and had to really grind the rest of the race. Dad was cheering just past 7 miles which was a huge help as I was really hurting at that point. Thought I was falling apart but hung in there ok. Pushed the last mile and was able to catch a few guys. Ended up 3rd in 40-44 and 4th masters as a 45-49 guy beat everyone in my age group. Was 3rd female and was 91th overall. Didn't really do much warm-up except walk around alot before and after. Was absolutely drenched is sweat when finished and staggered a bit. Was initially really dispointed but after reflection, weather really did hit everyone.
