Well this was the half marathon I have been training for the last few months. My training did not come together too well until the last few weeks. i have been hovering around 40 miles a week and it's been pretty easy. I haven't done any track workouts nor tempos. I think now that I have a decent base I can do more workouts and really start getting in racing shape.

With that being said, today's race was frustrating in the aspect of weather conditions. For Miami, the temperature was perfect, but it was pouring the rain and the winds were strong. Ran with a tailwind through 4.5 miles and a head wind from that point through 9.5 miles. I believe there was one spot around 6-7 miles there was no wind. I was running a great race for the shape I was in through 7 miles and then I just couldn't hang on with the winds and I kinda shut it down, and cruised the last few miles at a tempo pace and not a race pace. When a few runners passed me towards the end I just let them go and didn't fight it. I learned from this race that I need to start workouts and need new racing shoes desperately. I finished 18th overall and I had 1:31:58 on my watch for the overall time. My goal time was anything under 1:30, but it just didn't happen today. My PR is 1:19:32 and my goal is to run faster than that within the next few half marathons I do. Overall, glad that race is over!!!
