Couldn't ask for a better day for running; sunny, 50 degrees, it was pretty close to perfect. Did an easy 5 miles today, out to North Hollow Road and back. My pace on this run is always wicked fast on the way down compared to the way up. Average for the whole run was 10:06, but my averages for the different parts were all over the place.
For the first 1.25 miles, which is basically 75% downhill and 25% flat, my average pace was 8:50 with an average HR of 136. After that came the 3 mile section on the middle which is relatively flat. I averaged 9:50s with an average HR of 146. Finally, to end the run, I had to do the 1.05 mile (75% uphill, 25% flat) for which I averaged about 12:20s with an average HR of 155. Hills are a killer.
