Notes
Stu's 30K could be the toughest race in New England. Hills everywhere. I ran the first 10 miles easy with Mike @ 8:07 pace, then 6 mile marathon tempo @ 7:05, 7:09, 7:05, 7:03, 7:07, 7:10. Easy recovery the rest of the way.
This run beat me up. I had planned to run marathon tempo for the last 8.6, but my body was so hamered by mile 16, I pulled the string. My hamstrings were sore, especially the right one. Knees, glutes, feet, and even quads were sore a bit. Backing off the last 2.6 was definitely "smart running."
Strong headwinds the first 5 miles and the last 3.
This race is a test of character!
