This was a great run but also a reality check. My goal was to run hard and have no problems with the hamstring. The hamstring held together so this is positive. However I expected to run faster. i thought I could do in the 6:30's with the last mile close to 6 minutes because that mile is downhill. I was about 15 seconds per mile slower than I hoped for. last mile was only 6:33 and I ran the last half mile almost all out. I wish I had another month to train for the 5K, but this is what it is. I am grateful that I was able to run hard no matter the speed and not have the hamstring flair up again. It's still sore, but I am hopeful I will be able to race without causing injury.
