Notes
This was a big test run to see if I could get in the last long run before the marathon. I started ok. Glutes and right hammy hurt, but I felt it was manageable. However, by mile 10, I started having pain in both upper quad tendons that attach into the hips. I had never had this before, so it was unusual.
It started to get worse, especially the right side and by mile 12, I could barely run and had to bail out and walk 1.5 mil home.
The right side was so bad, I struggled to walk at all. A few hours, things calmed downed and the pain stopped. This is frustrating because I was worried about the glute/hammy and it was something else that came out of the blue and stopped me from finishing the run.
The only good thing is the right hamstring wasn't too bad. I will do a test 12 miler 10 days before the marathon and make a decision at that time if I am going to Edinburgh to run.
