Notes

This was like a tale of 2 runs. From the first step I felt like crap. I couldn't move my legs at all. I started off with 30 minutes for 3 miles. The temptation to walk was overwhelming. What kept me going was 2 things...

1. I have had runs in the past where I started badly, but hung in there and the run turned out to be a decent run. So I was hoping for the same today.

2. Eleni was my inspiration. Today she did 6 miles and had to deal with her arthritic toe problem. She battled through for 6 miles, so she earned 'Bad-Ass' points today and I didn't want to accrue any wimpy points, so I had to suck it up. :-)

So the first half of the run was about 9:35 pace. However going up the long steep hill from 6-6.5, I suddenly snapped out of my funk and ran soooooooo much better the rest of the way which also included a tough uphill stretch from miles 7 to 9.5.

2nd 6 miles were around 8:15 pace.

The downside is my left foot (between the arch and top of foot) was very sore and had swelling. I took 2 days off early this week because of this, but it appears I still have a problem.
