Very humid morning. I need to get ready for the Olly 5 miler if I'm going to race it. I really want to do well this year because I ran like crap the previous 2 times. So I decided to try to get in quality runs, even if this means taking a bunch of days off to rest the foot. I've been treading water with this thing. Now I'm just going to push the envelope ans see where it takes me.

So today was a nice surprise. I did 7 miles to warm-up and then 2 miles on the rack - hard straights/jog turns. I averaged 6;20 pace. It felt hard. I can tell I've lost some fitness. The good news is by mile4, my foot felt OK... enough to try this workout. It was fine. It did flair up on the warm-down.

Finished with 6 x 100 yd eccentric strides

My weekly plan will be: track, tempo and either long or fatlek. If I can got those three core runs in and need days off, I'm fine with that. By forcing the issue, I know it's a higher risk to break down, but I'm going for it.
