Notes
I'm very happy about my marathon. Just a few weeks ago I couldn't even run, so being able to finish was my primary objective. My legs felt heavy right from the start. At no point did I ever felt comfortable. I had to use all my mental and "soul" abilities to stay focused. I did have an energy reserve that I couldn't tap into to because my quads were soleus muscles were killing me. I had to jog the downhills.
Running 3:17 on a tough course and difficult conditions, (headwind) was the absolute best I could do for this day considering the missed training and lack of hill work going in to the race.
I ran with a sports drink for the first 8 miles. I had a second one from half way to mile 18. I took one gel at mile 22 even though I didn't feel like I really needed it.
We had a great caravan of people involved with Reno, Barry, Hovey and myself running and Eleni, Mikie, Barbie, Jill, Stephanie and Susan as support.
This was my first Boston in years and I soooo look forward to running again next year. :)
