Eleni and I made the trip to Carlisle for a Park Run. I felt tired the whole race ans struggled mentally to run hard. After a decent first mile I really slowed done. In fact mile 3 (6:31), was almost exactly the pace (6:32) I ran for the 11K.
I trained through this race and t showed. That being said, my time was on;y 3 seconds slower than my PB on this course. My GPS had it as 3.21 and other times it was longer at 3:27/3:28. So, still long, but slower to accurate. If it stays at 3:2, I feel I can get a sub 20:00 her this year.
Eleni, not feeling 100%, held back and run this as a workout and enjoyed the moment.
It was a lovely day as we had lunch at the Greek restaurant and coffer at Starbucks.:-)
The only downside was I ha a sharp pain on the outside of my right baby toe. It hurt at times during the race, but didn't affect my performance. However, after the race, it hurt more and I could even do a warmdown.
Mysteriously, 4/5 hours later, I felt 100% with the toe. I have had this pain a few times in the past, but never this bad. At first I thought it might be a bruise, but it cleared up so fast, I am ruling that out. I have no clue to what it is. Just hoping it doesn't return.
