Notes
I did the 2 mile handicap with the club. By 7:00pm, the rain had stopped and the wind died down to 15mph. It was 35mph during the day. For the handicap, the slower runners go first and faster runners later with the theory of everyone finishing about the same time.
I estimated to run 13:00, so I went out last 30 seconds after Steven M and another runner. It was an out and back on the cycle path with a hill as we had to go over the winding bridge. I was much slower than I expected, clocking 6;28 and 6:30. I didn't catch Steven. I closed to about 12 seconds behind him.
I don't understand why I was so slow. In October I did a 5K at 6:26. and I am in better shape now. I guess i need to race soon to find out where I am really at.
One good thing was the hamstring feeling tight on the warmup, was no problem when running harder.
