I felt very tired and flat. I had a constant internal dialogue in my head about whether or not I could do the tempo run. I could have put it off until tomorrow when i new I would be more recovered, but then I would have to deal with horrible rain and wind. At mile 7 I made a pit stop and that's where the memory of my toughest workout I ever did came back to inspire me. This was 15 plus years ago with Mark Perrone when we did 6 x 1 mile with 200 rest. I had absolutely nothing that day and those tempo miles were like individual mile races for me. Getting through that day always keeps me going whenever I doubt myself. So that's when I knew I was going to do this workout!
