Notes

Was supposed to be a fast finish long run with miles between 9:10-9:20 with 30 second adjustment for heat if need be. I was completely crushed by the time it was time to speed up. I have been humbled out on the Courtney Campbell before, many times actually. If you don't get out there before the sun comes up you get a beat down from the sun. If I start a half hour earlier, I complete this workout no problem. As it was, I probably ran a little too fast at the beginning of the run. I probably should have slowed 30 sec. per mile. I never learn. I have done that on this route several times. There is no shade and if you can eliminate the sun beating down on you, it's actually a beautiful place to run at dawn. I was pretty close to being dehydrated and I was nearly anaerobic during the last mile. It's hard to explain to people who don't live down here, but when the humidity is this high, it is like breathing pea soup through a gas mask. It's very hard to breathe. I know better. You just have to slow down. I didn't. So my fault. I'll be back out there tomorrow and next week. Not gonna let it get me down, but I know better and this run could have been a lot easier/better. I walked a mile and then jogged another mile, so I got 10 miles in running and a total of 11 on my feet. So there is that too.
