Notes

Back to back long runs. Yesterday and today.

The route I ran today was fairly hilly, hillier than my other 18 mile or 20 mile routes. This route was run on the south side of bethlehem, over the big mountain, past Lehigh's outdoor track, down into lower saucon valley and back up in a very weird, twisted loop. I botched up this route somewhat, making some wrong turns here and there, adjusting somewhat due to an closed road (Seidersville Rd.) due to a down bridge over around mile 14, then ran down 3rd st instead of back over the Minsi Trail Bridge to try to make up mileage that I thought I might have lost by adjusting the route. Same thing with running past the starting point to Linden St. Thought I would try to make up some mileage lost. Turned out I wouldn't have lost any mileage and I ended up extending my route to 18.75 miles instead of the 18 I planned out.

Started off slow to work out the kinks and soreness from yesterday. Was going pretty darn slow, hitting the 6 mile mark in over an hour. From 6 down through mile 9 it was pretty much all downhill. After mile 9 I picked up the pace, running through rolling hills in lower saucon valley, then back up into west Hellertown, by Saucon Park, then back over by the Sands Casino, through 3rd st. to the bridge in back of the public library, and back over to north Bethlehem.

I definitely made up some time in the second half (1:22 about for the 2nd half, little over 9min/mile average). Pretty good run. No gels or fluids taken.
