Notes
cool and blustery day...2nd year for their 50k...all gravel. started out with a climb of about 700 ft. in 3 miles..going down off of that climb, both of my hip flexors started to get sore and they continued to be sore off/on throughout the race. another gradually big climb around mile 18 and peaked at mile 25 and mostly down hill from there. the flexors really slowed me down and I know I could haven't gotten a faster time...probably under 6 hrs without hip flexors issues. I was still alright with results. Hadn't run further than 13 miles in the past 2 months. Beautiful fall foilage on trees. Want to go back to see how fast I can run it. Amy Rumbel ran it in 6:22. The finisher of the 50k was 3:23. The finisher of the 50 miler was 6:38! Lots of fast runners there. They also had the relay event.
