nice, sunny fall day...started good. felt confident and relaxed. had 1:44:32 1/2 and was on track for sub 3:30. around mile 17/18 right around the bridge going across back into Richmond, started getting weaker. became dehydrated and lacked energy. by mile 19 i was walking and continued to off and on. my body seemed to shut down. Excuses could have been as follows: ran 43 miles the week before, longest long run in 7 weeks was a 16 miler, didn't hydrate enough the day or two before, started out too fast, was at sub 7:45 min pace for first 12-13 miles(too fast)....probably all of the above. around mile 22 i told myself to try and finish below 3:50, averaging 10 min miles.....hung out with Rob Imhof and Justin Rummel at Rob's house. Rob and Justin both ran the 1/2 marathon. a good weekend hanging out!
