Having done very little training in the last couple of weeks due to the snow and ice, I didn't expect much today. I kept a decent but not strenuous pace all the way round and was really surprised to see I did a personal best by about 50 seconds. I never look at my watch whilst running, and I was really pleased. I also know I can go faster; I was quite weary today during the race and feel that a 43 minute 10k is not an impossibility if I can keep the training up. Unusual to see my max heart rate be up at 186, but at least it was towards the end of race where I did a PB.
