Notes
Unfortunately, we could not run the SHT and the backup course was unsafe due to a bad bridge. The good news was that we could run. This was a very tough course with 2623 ft of elevation gain in the 17 miles because we went up the same loop 4 times. It was over 600 ft of elevation each 2.1 mile climb but over 400 ft of it was the last mile of it. It was a tough run but I enjoyed every minute of it. I ran moderately hard but I didn't go screaming down the hills because I was worried about my hamstrings and I wanted to stay safe (which I did). I did walk a few of the uphills but I know that is what you do on some of these courses. I think I finished in the top 15 which was great for a non-trail guy. I'm pleased with this as it was my longest run since Tokyo and I really enjoyed it.
