Oh Boy!, all that stressing over the weather must of helped, I felt good about getting under the 7 min. mile that I was aiming for, "but" you never know what might happen. Well I took off from close to the front, didn't need the slow traffic problem on this monumental, last race of the year, hohoho5k, Ha! I hit the 1st split at around 6:55, I'm pretty sure I was under 10 seconds at split 2?", it gets crazy!, the side streets wore slushy, not helping, but I wasn't letting it stop me, around the 2/12 mile mark as was starting to up my speed, found my self being blocked trying to pass Bill Mazza and a few other guy's, once passed I stated to really punch it out, well I reached the 3m flag @ 21 min., I was like holy shit, I'm not gonna make it (21:39) sharp left in slush, (course guide yellin, it's all snow now) into the parking lot, packed down snow, (which after, Bill told me he slipped and missed sub 20 min.) I started to dig real deep and up my pace as best as I could, I look up at the clock as I race through the finish line and see it click 21:40, so I wasn't sure if I did it, until awards time, when Terry calls my name for third place (ag) another hohoho amazing last race of the year suprise. The awards was great, tipping more then a few with Bill, we wore feelin good with our award plaques Pat & Bill also hanging with us, I felt just a little funny, being the're in my age group and used to be faster then me. See what happens next year?"
