--- Four easy laps around my Helix Charter High School loop (6:17, 6:14, 6:16 and 6:17) and then a short add-on. Legs felt good and made sure to take it easy, although I was breathing a little too hard for what this was (could be my cold). ---
Mile splits: 8:46, 8:41 (17:27) and 8:49 (26:16) last 1.01 miles (8:44 pace)
Adjusted splits: 8:42, 8:44 and 8:40 pace last 1.01 miles
Stayed up way too late, especially with the cold I have. But I had the day off today and wanted to have some kind of fun. Still woke up to snot and/or blood. Had to get going because we had plans. Had a quick stretch. Wanted to run on the grass and/or dirt but could see the softball team practicing at their stadium and could hear bats being hit at the baseball stadium. So back to my second plan (original plan was three times around Creeper) of four times around the HCHS loop and a short add-on for just under three miles.
Did a nice job of keeping it easy today. Lap splits were 6:17, 6:14, 6:16 and 6:17 for 2.87 miles in 25:03 (8:44 pace). Was a little bored at times but got through it OK.
Then ran out to the home plate and back at the softball field, 0.15 miles in 1:13 (8:07 pace).
Altogether it was 3.01 miles in 26:16 (8:44 pace). Thought I’d be a little slower for my easy run but maybe I’m just getting back into shape. Glad to get in a 10-day cycle of four days one, one day off. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow and hopefully I can get rid of his cold.
