--- Short, easy run on tired legs in the middle of a cold. Wanted nothing faster than 9:30 pace but I started out a bit too quick and couldn’t quite get there, going 6:06, 6:09, 6:15 and 6:18. Feet were pretty sore the last lap or so. ---

Mile splits: 9:15, 9:25 (18:40) and 6:07 (24:47) last 0.64 miles (9:33 pace)

Adjusted splits: 9:10, 9:25 and 9:32 last 0.63 miles

My sickness (cold, sneezing, congestion) has gotten worse. Felt really bad last night getting home from work late and then I was just exhausted. Wanted a few beers, however, that I could hardly taste. Stayed up late but slept in until 9:15. Woke up to the runny nose. Did some work and a few other things before getting ready to run. Had a decent stretch. Was just running short and easy today, looking for nothing faster than 9:30 pace. Planned on four times around the 0.66-mile Olive loop unless I could sneak on the fields or dirt across the way. Walked over and could see a team practicing in the softball stadium and then soccer on the fields closest to the dirt hill, but I could still run the 0.65-mile Detour loops. I started and 16 seconds in (0.03) when I came around the corner I saw the bat bags and then the team, another softball team practicing on the modified fields. So I stopped, walked back to my starting spot on Lowell and ran four Olive laps.

My legs were tired the whole run and my feet started to hurt the last lap or so. Tried to keep it at 9:30 but was too fast early on. Was breathing a little harder than I thought I should have been but I think having a cold and the congestion was playing a part. Laps were 6:06, 6:09, 6:15 and 6:18.
