--- Short, recovery run after a stressful, 15.5-hour workday full of multitasking. Really didn’t want to run but glad I did. Felt good going this slow. Going to try to run early tomorrow before a longer workday. ---
Mile splits: 9:45, 10:04 (19:49) and 6:32 (26:21) last 0.65 miles (10:03 pace)
Adjusted splits: 9:41, 10:05 and 10:04 pace last 0.63 miles
Can’t believe I got out and ran after a long workday about 5:55 a.m. Was a stressful day too with no real breaks. After all of that I came home and just wanted to go to bed. But I want to keep running through all this work stuff just to prove I can do it (hopefully continue during football season). Changed into long sleeve because I was going to just run recovery anyway. Had a good, deep stretch that made my legs feel better. Then decided to plow through some Strava to get motivated. Walked out the door and was ready to go.
Ran four laps around Olive after going back and forth about running my original plan of Highlander Way x 6 + HPOAB or Parks x 2 + Olive. Didn’t think I could muster up that many laps around Highlander Way although that’s the flattest “loop” around. Then didn’t want to run Parks because I’d be doing part of it tomorrow so went with the Olive option. Ran the 0.66-mile loops in 6:22, 6:35, 6:40 and 6:44. Just was going off feel and the legs felt good. Kept the heart rate low for me right now with the AHR being 143 and the MHR being 155. Not much effort here to get this done. Not as good as running on grass or dirt but didn’t really have an option today. It was pretty dark out but not as dark if I would have run Highlander Way. Heart rate would go up each lap around the small Olive uphill but rest of the time was staying in low-to-mid 140s. Happy to get this in but now I’m so damn tired as I write this at 11:55 p.m. Will be up in just over five hours to run again because I have an even longer work day tomorrow. This sucks.
