Took Kremlin on a little adventure. We were going to go to Quicksilver but Hicks Rd was blocked with a tow truck so we couldn't get to the upper trailhead. Then the close trailhead was too busy. So we wandered out to Santa Teresa. It was sparsely attended by hikers, having instead a rather large number of mountain bikers. Also, we saw 4 women on horseback. Luckily I was able to get Kremlin to say still and not go crazy when they passed.

We had fun wogging. Some of the trails are wide fire road and easily runnable but others like Rocky Ridge are predictably rocky. It was a strange dance to keep ourselves upright. Kremlin does so much better over the rocky terrain but he was patient with me. Just as I was patient with him when going uphill. He tends to sandbag and drag behind. I wasn't sure exactly where the rocky trail would take us. Kremlin had a great view from the top of the trail where he could survey the area. He kept looking out and looking at me like "do you know where you are going?" No, not really. It didn't seem to be wrapping around in a loop so we were conservative and decided to turn around, making an out and back. Because much of the park is exposed, we were lucky there was a cooling breeze on the ridgeline. The direct sun made Kremlin hot. Thankfully, a little stream appeared later to cool his paws. Happy doggie.
