Field trip!! Got it in my head to go to Nisene Marks since I have never been out here and wanted to do something a bit different. Wow this park is like an enchanted forest. It is so beautiful with all of the giant redwoods and lush green, especially after the recent rain. The river was flowing briskly and there were little rivulets of water everywhere sounding peace and tranquility. The run itself was a bit rough, but I made it to the top of the incline and did a couple of extra loops on the Old Growth Loop trail before and after running up and down Aptos Creek Fire Road. Had to vault a huge log twice. My GPS was wigging out because of the heavy tree cover. It felt like more than 12 miles but that is probably just because I was moving so slowly! Made it near but didn't take the detour to see the Loma Prieta epicenter. Next time I get out here I will check that out for sure.
