Notes

Made the trek to Sunol since I wanted to change things up. New trails for me. Did a trailstompers route and only got lost once to add an extra mile. The first mile was very slow, filled with stream crossings. Next came very twisty and steep single track. Again, slow going. Then steep fire road which reminded me of Mission Peak style grades. After the top of the climb, the back part was rutted single track over grassy hills with ginormous, scary looking cows. I had to stop a couple of times to walk because the cows were very near the trail and I didn't want to get them mad. A couple lumbered off as I approached and one HUGE cow bristled and came a bit towards me, but then just stood her ground. I took a wrong turn here and went down a trail which basically ended at a river. 180 degrees and half a mile back to the main trail wasn't too bad of an excursion. The final 2+ miles were mostly gentle downhill on a park dirt road. That part was awesome, and if I ever returned, I would include this road in a different loop. The uphill single track and multiple stream crossings were a bit much for a regular run. At least I got the miles in and had some variety!
