Hicks loop from the "easier less steep" side. I wanted to try it from the other side to compare. It didn't feel easier at all really. What you trade in a little steeper grade from the North end you make up for distance and length of pain over 10% grade on the South side. :/ Fastest time up this side and fastest time on the downhill. Got to the Mt. Um turn and decided I still am not up for that challenge yet. Need to work my way up to doing 2 steep hills in a row and just am not there yet. I think I am going to try to find two level 5 hills with a break in between next.
There were a ton of people riding Hicks today in both directions. Also a ton of cars. People are definitely out and about.
